Wildlife

For the last seven years, Christian Houge has gathered taxidermied animals with the purpose of using them in this art project. By expressing himself through photography, film and installations, he opens for dialogue – and an aesthetic experience of dimensions. For this project is both important and incredibly beautiful.

Through various burning processes Houge gives new life to the animals before they are released.

As an observer, you are not only invited to a meeting with the artist’s relation to the animals but to a mirroring and a meeting with yourself.

The exhibition contains a wide variety of photographs of exotic as well as domestic animals. In addition, various elements are displayed such as sculptural objects and wallpaper from the performative action.

In what way can art affect our relationship to animals, climate and the environment? And what questions must we ask ourselves to move forward in our development?

Christian Houge wants to create dialogue at a time when we are becoming more and more distant from our origins.

Residence of Impermanence is an exhibition that will engage and touch on many levels.
